C3 AND THE MEDICAL BREAKOUT FUND
Throughout America dedicated scientists, independent medical professionals, universities, hospitals and often ordinary people, derive unique ideas and treatments for various medical conditions. The initial stage of concept development however is difficult to advance beyond not only because of the nature of the medical research process itself, but also because of lack of resources, in particular, financial resources.
Given these circumstances a source of intermediate financial support is needed to provide a bridge in the funding gap between basic research and a new medical therapy’s entry into the marketplace. Medical discoveries resulting from both privately and publicly funded research often need additional development to reach important milestones; milestones that make these discoveries more attractive, increasing the potential for acquiring additional capital or for licensing/acquisition by an existing company.
